Good understanding of distributed computing concepts.
Very good knowledge of PySpark and dataframe APIs.
Understanding of Spark application performance tuning and optimizations. Experience with batch processing and good to have streaming data processing experience.
Good understanding of Hive and usage with Spark, as well as any other open table format like Iceberg.
Good knowledge of data integration tools similar to Sqoop or ADF (Azure Data Factory).
Experience with orchestration tools like Oozie and Airflow.
Basic knowledge of shell scripting.
Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code (design patterns, OOPs) and unit test cases.
Comfortable with Git and GitHub.
Experience with cloud platforms like MS Azure is an added advantage.
Automation by default with strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
Understanding of building CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of automation applied to security scanning, implementation, and performance testing as part of the build.

Actively participate with the team to evaluate multiple design decisions and choose appropriate solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Work collaboratively to understand requirements and convert them into user stories.
Engage in design thinking with the team, considering future needs and maximizing performance.
Ability to design reusable and scalable modules.
