Job Description

We are currently hiring fresh Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Mechanical Engineering graduates (with computer science), to fill vacancies for our fresher’s induction program.

The role includes all technical challenges associated with analysing, maintaining product data, designing & developing or testing of software to meet business and internal stakeholder needs of Herman Miller. The role will be based out of our Bangalore office in India.

This role transcends departmental and geographical boundaries as it aims at supporting and enabling the various divisions of the Herman Miller business across the globe.

Essential Attributes of Potential Candidates

Academics

  • Graduation in BE / BSc (Computer Science) / BCA / MCA / B.Tech

Technical

  • Formal education in one or more computer skills along with strong OOPS fundamentals.
  • Courses / Training on latest technology tools will be a plus (e.g., BI, reporting, Microsoft .NET etc).
  • Any internship experience in software development will be an advantage.

Personality

  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills with clarity of thought in articulation (very important).
  • Passion to develop technology solutions (can be demonstrated through academic project work).
  • Analytical thought process and willingness to discuss and debate on differing opinions.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them on the job.
  • Willingness to work in the UK shift from 12 PM to 9 PM.
  • Ability to work individually or within a team environment.
  • Ability to participate in multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a healthy work environment.
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for quality.
  • Ability to take direction, constructive criticism, and work to specified deadlines.
  • Adherence to processes and procedures defined for the role, team, and organization.

Process

The chosen candidates will be assigned to various teams, projects, and processes over a period of 2-4 months to learn and apply their skills on tasks that will demonstrate their strength areas. Once an individual’s potential has been clearly established, they may be assigned to a live project team as a permanent member.

The hiring process will consist of a written/computer-based test and at least 2 rounds of personal interviews.
