About the Job

This position is needed to build and deploy the next generation of our distributed systems and microservices architecture. The new features aim to simplify the customer onboarding process for Twilio Messaging and Voice products by enabling ISVs and direct customers to collect, upload, and maintain compliant KYC data across multiple countries. The role also involves working on upgrading current services and migrating them to a self-managed cloud for better resiliency, maintainability, and reduced operational effort.

Responsibilities

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for distributed systems and microservices using asynchronous communication patterns.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable architectures prioritizing reliability and performance.
Support modernization of the tech stack to leverage modern technologies while maintaining backward compatibility.
Build APIs, storage systems, cache layers, and workflows for complex business logic.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and architects globally.
Encourage knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous learning within the team.
Participate in agile development with rapid, iterative, and frequent deployments.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Exposure to cloud environments like AWS.
Experience with Java, including asynchronous programming.
Experience with REST APIs and relational databases like MySQL.

Desired:

Experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka, and ElastiCache.
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
Hands-on project experience, ideally in a team setting (internships, academic projects).

Location

Remote role based in India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, or New Delhi).

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for in-person team or project meetings.
