HackerEarth – Problem Setter Internship

• Location: Bangalore (Hybrid) - MUST
• Duration: 6 months (Extendable)

About the Opportunity

• HackerEarth nurtures a strong community of programming enthusiasts through various initiatives and is looking for talented individuals to join the Problem Setting Team.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Create new questions for public/private hackathons, challenges, and technical assessment products.
• Design problems around data structures, algorithms, and mathematics across various difficulty levels.
• Create real-life programming questions and test problems created by other problem setters.
• Review HackerEarth's existing question bank for technical errors and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Add code stubs (partial codes) to problem editors to help candidates focus on writing logic rather than syntax.
• Respond to queries, suggestions, and issues from candidates solving problems on the platform.
• Collaborate with the tech documentation team to remove context or grammar ambiguities from questions.

Required Skills

• Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and mathematics.
• Strong profile on online judges such as HackerEarth, HackerRank, Codeforces, CodeChef, SPOJ, etc.
• Experience in creating or testing problems for online judges will be preferred.
